Initial Course Selection Form

After students have had the DP introduction and met with subject teachers they are given this initial course overview form. The form is useful as it gives us an idea of what students would choose if they were given a free choice, which allows the Head of Programmes to build timetable blocks.

 

Contents

• The form gives a very basic overview of the subject, the level it is offered at and the teacher recommendations (based on final MYP grades). 
• Students get the following options when looking at each subject: 

I definitely want to take this subject  

I am interested in taking this subject      

I have got no interest in taking this subject

HL / SL / not decided / none

• Students must write in their last term`s grade in the subject and their reasons for wanting to take the subjects they are interested in, focusing on university and career choice.
