Subject Recommendations for Students.

Subject Recommendations for Students.

My school is an MYP school. Each year I ask each department to create recommended MYP final grades for students if they would like to take their subject.

These recommendations are shared with students in teacher-student meetings and parents in workshops, as well as being on the official subject choice form.

If a student would still like to take the subject despite not meeting the recommendations, meetings are held with the subject teacher, DP coordinator and, where necessary,  parents, where student data is analysed. If, after the meeting, the student would still like to take the subject, he / she and the parents must sign a letter stating they are aware that the school has advised against the subject choice.
